Volvo XC40 facelift to launch on September 21: What to expect


Volvo is gearing up to launch the XC40 facelift in India on September 21, 2022. The 2022 Volvo XC40 will receive a mild-hybrid petrol engine, exterior upgrades and more colour options. Here is what to expect from the upcoming Volvo XC40.
In terms of exterior, the Volvo XC40 facelift will come equipped with sleeker-looking headlamps, revised front bumper and more. The model will look similar to the all-electric Volvo XC40 Recharge. Along with more exterior colour options, the new Volvo XC40 is expected to receive some new features as well.
One of the major changes that the upcoming XC40 will receive a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol mild-hybrid engine, producing 197 hp power. Excluding the S60 sedan, Volvo is planning to cover the entire ICE-powered range into the mild-hybrid technology, according to various reports.
Some Volvo dealerships have already commenced the bookings of the upcoming XC40 SUV, while its deliveries will begin soon after the launch.
The Volvo XC40 facelift will rival the likes of premium SUVs, such as the newly-launched Audi Q3, the Mercedes-Benz GLA as well as the existing BMW X1 SUV in the Indian market.
The company’s manufacturing facility in Bangalore produces the flagship XC90, compact SUV XC40, luxury sedan S90 and the mid-size SUV XC6 locally. Volvo has recently introduced the XC40 Recharge pure electric SUV in the Indian market, offering a range of up to 418 km per charge, will also be built at the company’s Bangalore manufacturing facility.
