Toyota Hyryder vs Grand Vitara vs Hyundai Creta vs Kia Seltos: Specs and price comparison

Toyota India today announced the prices for the Urban Cruiser Hyryder Neo Drive variants, starting from 10.48 lakh and going up to Rs 17.79 lakh (ex-showroom). Maruti Suzuki recently revealed the prices for the Grand Vitara. The prices for the SUV starts from Rs 10.45 lakh and goes up to 19.65 lakh (ex-showroom).

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota have now market their entries into the highly competitive mid-size SUV segment to rival the well established models like Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.

Talking about the powertrain, The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara and Toyota Hyryder share the same platform and engine. Both SUVs are powered by the same 1.5L K15C petrol engine with a mild hybrid tech and a 1.5 L TNGA 3-cylinder Atkinson petrol with a strong hybrid tech.

The mild hybrid version is capable of producing 103 bhp and 138Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic. The manual versions will also come with AWD system, which offers 4 driving modes – Auto, Sand, Snow and Lock.
The 1.5-litre 3-cyl engine produces 115 bhp of power and 122Nm of torque. It comes with Toyota’s e-CVT.

Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is available with two powertrain configurations: The Smart Hybrid petrol-only variants are priced between Rs 10.45-17.05 lakh (ex-showroom) while the Intelligent Electric Hybrid trims are introduced in a price bracket of Rs 17.99-19.65 lakh (ex-showroom).
Hyundai Creta is available with two petrol engine options namely a naturally-aspirated 1.5L MPI unit and a 1.4L turbo petrol. The prices for the 1.5L petrol variants starts from Rs 10.44-17.22 lakh whereas 1.4L turbo starts from Rs 15.58-18.15 lakh.
Kia Seltos is also offered with two petrol engine options 1.5L NA and a 1.4L turbocharged unit. The Seltos is priced between Rs 10.49-15.45 lakhs while the latter comes in a range of Rs 16.05-18.29 lakh.
