Tata Harrier XMAS and XMS variants launched; prices start at Rs 17.20 lakh

Tata Motors today launched its XMAS and XMS variants of the Harrier SUV in the Indian market. The Tata Harrier XMS variant is launched at an introductory price of Rs 17.20 lakh, while the Harrier XMAS variant is priced at Rs 18.50 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom).
The new Harrier XMS variant is placed between the XM and XT variants and available in manual gearbox only. Positioned between the XMA and XTA+ variants, the new Harrier XMAS trim comes mated with an automatic transmission.
As far as the features are concerned, the Tata Harrier XMAS and XMS variants get a touchscreen infotainment with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a reverse parking camera, an 8-speaker sound system and more. Till now, the panoramic sunroof was offered in the XT+ and XTA+ variants.
The Harrier XT+ and XTA+ variants are priced at Rs 18.20 lakh and Rs 19.50 lakh (both prices are ex-showroom), respectively. These two variants get a sunroof at Rs 1 lakh less.
Built on Tata’s OMEGARC platform derived from the Land Rover D8, the Tata Harrier is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder Kryotec BS6 diesel engine that generates a peak power of 167.6 bhp and a max torque of 350 Nm. Transmission options include a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
Tata is offering the Harrier SUV with a fuel efficiency of 16.35 kmpl and 14.6 kmpl for the MT variant and AT variant, respectively.
As compared to the XT and XT+ variants, the new Harrier XMAS and XMS variants miss out on some features, such as R17 alloy wheels, cruise control, automatic climate control, push button start, central locking, soft-touch dashboard, air purifier and rear armrest with cup holders.
