Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the 2022 Grand Vitara hybrid SUV in the Indian market. Ahead of its official launch, the company has already commenced the media test drives of the SUV. Last week, the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder launched in India with only strong hybrid variants prices revealed. According to earlier reports and the Toyota Hyryder launch, we can get an insight on the expected price of the Grand Vitara and other features.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: Expected price
Witnessing the Toyota Hyryder price, we expect the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara to be priced more competitively as compared to the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder. Expected to launch in the coming weeks, the Grand Vitara SUV price will range between Rs 10 lakh – Rs 18 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara will be available in 7 variants – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Alpha, Alpha AWD, Zeta Plus, and Alpha Plus.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: Exterior
Featuring a typical SUV silhouette and sculpted hood, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara has received LED headlamps with split DRLs, a black chrome-finished grille with Suzuki badging, and skid plates. The side profile is flanked by blacked-out pillars, 17-inch alloy wheels and roof rails. At the rear, the SUV gets a shark-fin antenna and connected LED tail-lamps.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: Interior
As far as the interior is concerned, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara gets a wide array of features, such as a head-up display, a 9.0-inch infotainment panel with latest connectivity options, a semi-digital instrument cluster and ventilated front seats.
It has also received ambient lighting, a multi-functional steering wheel, wireless charger, panoramic sunroof and automatic climate control.
Safety suite of the Grand Vitara consists of 6 airbags, a 360-degree view camera and ESP.
Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara: Powertrain and specs
Under the hood, the Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara is powered by a strong-hybrid powertrain, comprising a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle power plant paired to an electric motor and a battery pack to churn out a peak power of 114 bhp and a max torque of 122 Nm, respectively. An e-CVT transmission is on offer. The mild-hybrid powertrain makes use of a 1.5-litre NA petrol engine with a 48V mild-hybrid technology, cumulatively producing a power output of 101 bhp and a torque of 136 Nm.
A 5-speed MT and a 6-speed AT will be on offer. Moreover, this motor will be available with the AWD layout as optional with a manual gearbox. The Grand Vitara AWD trims will be offered with four drive modes, including Sport, Snow, Auto, and Lock.
