Kawasaki launches 2023 Z900 sport bike: Gets costlier with two new colours


A day after launching the 2023 Ninja ZX10R, Kawasaki has gone ahead and announced the arrival of the 2023 Z900 sport bike as well. The naked sport bike will now be offered in two new colour schemes and has also seen a slight price bump on its ex-showroom value. Here is everything you need to know about the 2023 Kawasaki Z900.
The first major change is the refreshed dual-tone colour schemes for the Z900, it will now be offered in a Metallic Phantom Steel Grey that will feature a grey and silver paintwork combined with a red theme for the Trellis frame and the 17-inch alloy wheels. Another colour scheme called the Metallic Carbon Grey with grey and black body panels and a dark green shade for the frame and wheels has also been introduced. The 2023 model is priced at Rs 8.93 lakhs (ex-showroom) which is Rs 9,000 more than the 2022 model’s Rs 8.84 lakh price tag.

The Kawasaki Z900 is based on the company’s outgoing Sugomi design philosophy. It has sharp styling with a low-slung LED headlight and an upswept tail with a Z-shaped LED taillamp. It features a 948 cc liquid-cooled, in-line four cylinder engine that produces 125 PS of max power at 9,500 rpm and 98.6 Nm of torque at 7,700 rpm. The motorcycle weighs 212 kg, which is a bit heavier than its immediate competition such as the Triumph Street Triple and Ducati Monster. The Z900 also gets a 6-speed gearbox but does not get a quick-shifter even as an option.

Braking duties are carried out by Nissin brake set ups for both front and back. At the front, the Z900 gets dual semi-floating 300 mm petal discs with four piston callipers and a single 250 mm disc at the back with a single piston calliper. It gets 41 mm upside down USD shocks and a mono shock set up at the rear. It is also well appointed in terms of electronics and features safety features such as ABS and Kawasaki Traction Control. The Z900 also features multiple riding modes and a three-levels for its traction control system. It gets a 4.3-inch digital screen which supports Bluetooth connectivity and the rider can also vary the bike’s power delivery.
