Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India recently reported its overall sales growth of 15% for July 2022. The company’s total sales stood at 4,43,643 units, including domestic sales of 4,02,701 units and exports of 40,942 units.
HMSI reported 18% growth in domestic sales in July 2022 over the corresponding month last year when sales stood at 3,40,420 units. However, the company’s export sales declined 8% at 40,942 units last month.
“Factors like good monsoon and increased demand for personal mobility have translated well to rise in customer walk-ins & enquiries. Commencing second quarter on a high along with the coming festive season, we expect to regain the growth momentum at a faster rate,” says Atsushi Ogata, Managing Director, President & CEO, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India.
Last month, the company announced its collaboration with Kyndryl to elevate the IT and security across its manufacturing plants. Besides, HMSI also commenced the exports of its 125cc motorcycle SP125 to New Zealand and Australia. The firm has already dispatched 250 units of the motorcycle that will be sold with the name ‘CB125F’ in these markets.
HMSI recently inaugurated its Honda BigWing outlets in Madurai (Tamil Nadu), Thodupuzha (Kerala), Malappuram (Kerala) and Warangal (Telangana).
Honda is gearing up to launch its 350cc bike under its Honda BigWing premium on August 8, 2022. Christened as ‘The Formidable’, we expect it to be either a cruiser motorcycle to take on the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 or an adventure tourer. The brand is yet to reveal more information about the motorcycle. Stay tuned!
