Hero MotoCorp to introduce its first EV under ‘Vida’ brand: Launch on October 7

Here MotoCorp is finally set to enter the electric vehicle market in India with the introduction of a brand-new electric two-wheeler under its Vida brand. The 2W manufacturer confirmed in a quarterly report that a “new era in mobility is about to begin,” referring to an event under the Vida electric mobility brand that was introduced earlier this year.
The two-wheeler manufacturer has sent out invites to its dealers, investors, and global distributors for the event, which will take place in Jaipur, Rajasthan. As per people in the know, the company will be launching its first EV at the occasion. Do note that Hero MotoCorp is yet to make an official announcement for the same.
The scooter was originally planned to debut on July 1, however, the launch was then delayed and now will finally take place next month. Images of the scooter were also leaked online just over a year ago, revealing the production-ready electric scooter inside the company’s R&D facility in Jaipur.

Hero MotoCorp is expected to price the electric scooter aggressively. Upon arrival, it will serve as a direct rival to the likes of TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak, as well as the Ola S1 scooters. It will be interesting to see if the new Hero MotoCorp Vida scooter can undercut its rivals.
