Check petrol and diesel prices in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru on September 22


Petrol and diesel prices remain unchanged in metro cities again on Thursday, September 22 as per the latest price notification issued by the Oil Marketing Companies. Fuel prices held steady for four months now, since Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced an excise duty cut on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and on diesel by Rs 6 per litre. On July 15, the Maharashtra government had announced a Value-Added Tax cut on petrol and diesel prices by Rs 5 per litre and Rs 3 per litre, respectively.
In Delhi, petrol price today stands at Rs 96.72 per litre and diesel costs Rs 89.62 per litre. Petrol price in Mumbai is Rs 106.31 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs 94.27 per litre. In Chennai, petrol price is Rs 102.63 per litre and diesel price is Rs 94.24 per litre. Customers have to shell out Rs 106.03 per litre for petrol and Rs 92.76 per litre for diesel in Kolkata.

Retail petrol and diesel prices vary from state to state depending on the local taxes such as VAT or freight charges.
On Wednesday, crude oil prices slid by 1% as the U.S dollar soared and India’s gasoline demand has decreased due to the possible global recession. Brent futures fell 57 cents, or 0.6%, to trade at $90.05 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell 66 cents, or 0.8%, to trade at $83.28 per barrel.
