However, it should be noted that the Atto 3 is already available on sale in foreign markets. The electric SUV gets sharp-looking LED headlamps, joined together with a thick chrome strip that houses the company’s name. There’s also an LED strip that runs along the bottom of the said chrome strip, connecting with the LED DRLs integrated in the headlights.
At the rear, the BYD Atto 3 gets wraparound LED tail lights that are also conjoined, with the
Build Your Dreams lettering placed just above. The foreign-spec Att0 3 gets a front-mounted electric motor that produces 204 PS of max power, helping the SUV sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.3 seconds.
The electric car has an NEDC certified range of 480 km for the Extended Range model, and 410 km for the Standard range. It is yet to be seen if the India-spec Atto 3 will be equipped with the same powertrain. Nonetheless, if that’s the case, the Atto 3 could go on to become the longest range mass-market EV in India, along with being the quickest to 100 kmph from standstill.
On the inside, the BYD Atto 3 is equipped with a unique 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system that can be rotated from landscape to portrait mode. The infotainment system is equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity.
BYD currently has only one product in its Indian portfolio – the e6 electric MPV, which was recently made available for private buyers as well. The e6 is priced at Rs 29.15 lakh (ex-showroom), but the Atto 3 will likely be positioned under the former in the carmaker’s line-up here in India.
