2023 Lamborghini Urus S unveiled: Entry-level Urus with 656 hp & an Ego mode!

Lamborghini today took the wraps off the new 2023 Lamborghini Urus S, and with that, the brand’s ‘Super SUV’ now has two variants in its range. The S will sit below the sports-oriented Urus Performante, and is more of a mid-life facelift for the Urus. It gets the same 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 that makes 656 hp, the same as the Urus Performante, which means it is also quicker with improved acceleration. The Porsche Cayenne Turbo rival now does 0-100 km/h in 3.5 seconds and has a top speed of 305 km/h.
Its twin-turbo engine delivers 850 Nm of maximum torque already at 2,300 rpm up to a maximum of 6,000 rpm. The exhaust system has been retuned for a ‘more distinct sound at start-up and a sharper note in each drive mode’.

The Urus S continues to get adaptive air suspension as standard and multiple drive modes that include STRADA, SPORT, CORSA, and EGO, which are specifically meant for on-road purposes. The SUV also gets three off-road drive modes – TERRA, NEVE, and SABBIA.
The Urus S has been tweaked for design as well and now has a significant increase in options in terms of colours, trim, wheels, style packages, and further customization across the spectrum.
The front bumper sports a new design and incorporates a new matt black-painted stainless steel skidplate as standard. Five further style configuration options combine body colour, shiny black, and carbon fibre components in shiny and matt finish. A new lightweight carbon fiber painted bonnet comes with matt black air vents, with optional finishes to the vents in gloss black, body colour or carbon fibre in gloss or matt finish.
New rim options are offered alongside the standard 21” wheel, including 22” Nath rims with titanium matt and diamond polish finish, while 23” Taigete wheels can be selected in bronze and diamond polish alternatives.
Connectivity in the Urus S includes connected navigation, security features and several in-car control services. Services can also be managed via smartphone integration, with the enhancement of smartwatch controls including the virtual car key function.
Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini: “The Urus’ commercial success, with more than 20,000 vehicles produced, is testament to its credentials as the first and enduring Super SUV: the Urus S elevates that reputation.”
